Then I saw what is perhaps my favorite SF cover of all time – Bok's cover for the issue of Fantasy and Science Fiction featuring Roger Zelazny's “A Rose For Ecclesiastes”, perhaps my favorite all time SF short story. I always cry at the end of Flowers for Algernon and I also cried at the end of Zelazny's A Rose For Ecclesiastes the first time I read it. I find it interesting that you didn't enjoy The Einstein Intersection. All hope for change or future from their thought. I just found and read "A Rose For Ecclesiastes", and found it very moving. This was nominated for the 1964 Hugo for short fiction. Maybe I've been missing out on a lot of great work from Zelazny, but not even "A Rose for Ecclesiastes" stays enough in memory to make me bother finding out. Via the Grantbridge Street blog.
